Portugal — especially Lisbon — has become Europe's premier nomad destination. MEO, NOS, and Vodafone provide strong 4G coverage across the country. Lisbon has excellent 5G in the city center. The Algarve coast has good tourist-area coverage. Interior Alentejo can be patchy.

Germany has excellent mobile infrastructure from Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, and O2. Berlin is a major nomad hub with a thriving startup scene and hundreds of co-working spaces. Munich and Hamburg offer strong connectivity and high quality of life.
Nomad highlight: Berlin has one of Europe's most vibrant startup ecosystems and a large international nomad community. Freelancer visa available for non-EU citizens.
Spain has strong mobile coverage from Movistar, Vodafone, and Orange. Barcelona and Madrid are major nomad cities with excellent connectivity. Spain introduced a Digital Nomad Visa in 2023, making it easier for non-EU remote workers to establish legal residency.

The Netherlands has near-universal 4G and rapidly expanding 5G. Amsterdam is a major international hub with excellent connectivity, abundant co-working spaces, and a large English-speaking expat community. The compact geography means very few dead zones.
